Here at Oak Guernsey, we are proud to be donating unused office supplies for the children at Bright Beginnings Nursery & Pre-school.
Chloe Alridge, a Trainee Administrator, was the driving force behind this initiative; she proposed the innovative concept to James, Head of Sustainability, who knew immediately this is something we had to be involved with! The nursery children eagerly painted two cardboard boxes for us, which we now fill with scrap card and paper for the nursery's arts and crafts activities.
Bright Beginnings is a Childrens Centre and registered charity which offers many different services to parents such as support groups, childcare and respite.
Chloe said "Working for a company that not only supports the local community but also values, considers and listens to our ideas is really important to me. When I recently proposed that our unused stationery be donated to Bright Beginnings, a cause that is close to my heart, I was thrilled to have the full support of the Directors and all of the Oak team. I'm excited to explore more opportunities where we can support the local community around us and make a positive difference to those in need.”
We are pleased to see how committed our employees are to not only assisting the local community but also adding to our sustainability journey by assisting with our waste management.
