The British Rowing Offshore Coastal Championships took place in Exmouth in late July. Coastal scullers from England, Scotland, Wales, and Jersey visited and wowed the crowd. There were breaking waves on the beach at the start and substantial white horses out on the course, but they were just the right size to provide these scullers with the fun, excitement, and difficulty they love.
Oak Associate Director, Sarah and Marketer, Abbi, also known as 'Girls That Row' (commended in the Crew of the Year category at the 2022 British Rowing Awards) brought home a gold medal for the 6k endurance race in the women's coxed quad.
In addition to their achievements, as a proud sponsor of the Jersey Rowing Club (JRC) beach sprints, we want to congratulate Natasha Searson for her outstanding performance in the women's beach sprints, which earned her a spot to represent Great Britain in future beach sprint competitions.
Additionally, we commend Sarah and her rowing partner Gary for their outstanding performance, which earned them a well-deserved fourth place in the mixed doubles beach sprint event. Their dedication has truly paid off, and we are grateful to have such talented individuals as members of the Oak team.
This sponsorship exemplifies our commitment to not only supporting our employees, but also the local community and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Over the next four years, Oak will assist the JRC in covering the costs of necessary materials and contribute to athletes cost, who competing in the beach sprints, are up for selection for the Oak sponsored national squad competing at the Home Internationals Regatta. This ensures that the club can continue to grow and advance to represent not only their club but also their nation at an international stage.
