Oak is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Jersey Rowing Club (JRC) beach sprints, which illustrates our dedication to supporting not only our people, but also the local community and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The JRC beach sprints are held on St. Aubin's beach on an annual basis and is anticipated to draw participants and spectators from all over the island and beyond.

Over the next four years, our sponsorship will enable the JRC to continue to provide an unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators by covering the costs of required materials and assisting selected athletes in their competitions off island.

Jo Gorrod added, "We are thrilled to sponsor the Jersey coastal rowing beach sprints. It will not only provide a wonderful opportunity for the community to experience our island's beautiful coastline, but it will also help raise the profile of coastal rowing in Jersey. We hope that this sponsorship will encourage more people to take up the sport and help local athletes compete on and off the island at a semi-professional level. We’re delighted to be a part of this new and exciting event and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the sport and the community."

The beach sprint events consist of a succession of sprint races in singles and pairs, demonstrating their agility and high-intensity rowing on the water.

Sarah Earles, beach sprint organiser and Associate Director at Oak, remarked, "It's incredible to have the support of my employer; being able to run these events to the same standard as other off-island events enables us build experience and grow talent with view to being in a position to compete at the commonwealth games"

The next beach sprint event will take place in August.
