Oak sponsored Hockey Team updates 2023

ENGLAND HOCKEY JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS PLATE FINAL

The Nottingham hockey ground will be buzzing on April 2nd with excitement as the U16’s Isle of Man Boys face step onto the field to battle it out against the U16s Hampton-in-Arden Boys for the title, with the Manx side supported by many travelling family and friends.

The IOM boys have been mesmerising to watch, scoring 25 goals in their last four matches while conceding only five. Their attacking prowess has been one of their greatest strengths, reinforced by a persist defensive line and fluid attacking style.

We are pleased to sponsor the IOM Junior Hockey team and provide them with the necessary funding to succeed. We at Oak would like to congratulate the boys on their tremendous effort throughout the season and wish them luck in the final game.

MARCH 2023 - England Hockey Tier 2 plate final

Sunday, March 19th, at Horsham, the Oak-sponsored under-16 boys hockey team defeated Guildford B 3-0 to advance to the final of the England Hockey Tier 2 plate.

As soon as the whistle blew, it was evident that the Manx team was the more skilled team, whereas the Guildford team was more physically robust and well-organized. During the game, the boys did well to maintain their dominance despite constant tackling from the Guildford team.

During the game, the boys did well to maintain their dominance despite constant tackling from the Guildford team and despite Guildford's continued efforts to score, Leo, awarded joint man of the match, scored the game-winning goal with a one-handed shot.

Congratulations to all the boys, as this was the most difficult game of the season thus far, and they all prevailed with great character and determination; best of luck for the final which will be held in Nottingham on April 2nd!

JANUARY 2023 - North stafford

The Isle of Man U16 boys' hockey team, proudly sponsored by Oak, travelled to Newcastle-under-Lyme to compete against North Stafford U16 boys in Round 3 of the England Hockey Tier 2 Plate.

The boys began the game with enthusiasm and energy, passing brilliantly and controlling play for the first ten minutes. The North Staffs responded to the Islanders' play with well-executed goals in the final 15 minutes of the game, applying pressure, but the Islanders held firm.

We wish the boys the best of luck when they travel to Nottingham to play Beeston in February, which is predicted to be an even longer and potentially more difficult match than the one they just endured!
