July 31, 2022 Oak IOM Sponsor U18 Hockey Team

Oak Isle of Man is proud to sponsor the girls’ and boys’ hockey teams for ages 14, 16, and 18.

Encouraging and allowing young people on the Island to access a sport is very important to our IOM directors and Hockey is a fantastic, fully inclusive team sport which Oak have proudly sponsored since 2020. The company has had two employees represent the Island Senior teams and another has also coached the Island Junior squads.

The Manx Hockey Association is very active in terms of growing the sport on the Island and encouraging young people to participate in a team sport with a view to compete at a higher level in the future.

During the 2021/2022 season, six IOM teams, made up of  120 juniors, represented IOM in the EHA Championships.

Two of the teams advanced to the round of 16, while three teams advanced to the quarterfinals and one team advanced to the semi-finals – a significant achievement given the Island’s population size.
