Mark Chasey

Mark established Oak Trust (Guernsey) Limited in 1999, after spending many years within the financial services industry in South Africa and Jersey.

He earned a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Accountancy at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and finished his articles at the Johannesburg accounting firm Pim Goldby, where he also earned his qualification as a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1984. From 1984 to 1988, he served as financial controller at Femco Electric Motors Limited in Johannesburg. He started his own liquidation company in Johannesburg in 1989 before moving to Jersey to join Ernst and Young Trust Company (Jersey) Limited in 1997.

Mark has been instrumental in building a large network of clients across Southern Africa, Europe and the Middle East, and is a key figure in Oak’s director-led service model. He travels regularly to meet new and existing clients and he is the ultimate ambassador for Oak and our values.

Outside of work

Mark serves as the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants' EMEA representative and is a council member of Male Uprising Guernsey (MUG), a charitable foundation that focuses on men's cancer treatments and pertinent care and counselling. Mark loves to travel, enjoying the food, drink, art and music that any culture has to offer.​
